With each new iCUE update we want to provide you with the best possible features, improvements and bug fixes. In the current iCUE version 5.14 there are some new features as well as a redesign of the iCUE interface.
In this article, we're going to give you a brief overview of the new features and changes.
NEW FEATURES IN iCUE 5.14
With this large update, there a lot of changes, too many to full expound here, but we'll take a moment to explain all the big ones.
- Direct Device Mode
Formally known as "hardware lighting", we've reworked this feature to offer clearer delineation between the two distinct lighting modes. Software lighting works only when iCUE is active, whereas any settings saved in Direct Device Mode are enabled when iCUE is not present.
The way you assign and customize both modes is a lot easier, now. Additionally, you can preview and adjust any preferred changes made in Direct Device Mode in real-time. We've written a more detailed overview of Device Memory Mode you can read for more insight and some examples, by the way.
- Improved profile managment
There is now one dialogue for editing all software profiles in iCUE and new way of showing these profiles. With this update you'll now be able to both manage, and switch between profiles faster and more smoothly
- Govee integration
This allows you to directly control compatible gear from Govee right from iCUE. This increases the range of ambient lighting products with official iCUE support, joining such brands as Nanoleaf and Philips Hue.
