The sport programme is articulated around 4 major pillars:➔- Hard work and the repetition of essential technical fundamentals - An intensive physical preparation- Mental coaching and player stimulation- The implementation of an intensive competition programme The sport season is articulated around 5 distinctive periods :➔September- Fitness tests- Video analysis of each player- Full tennis / fitness assessment which enables the implementation of an annual training plan which highlights the major aspects tobe worked uponOctober - December- Work on the techniques and major changes if needed- Work on the physical fundamentals (endurance - strenght - flexibility)- Progressive in-situation matches (2 and 3 tournaments)- Devlop a game identityJanuary - March- Tactical work in connection with matches (beginning of competitions) and setting up the game identity- Specific physical work related to preparation in competition - Focus on explosive work- Competitions (between 4 and 6 tournaments)April - June- In-situation matche play nearly every day- Intensive competition practice (between 6 and 10 tournaments)- Physical trainingSummer- Implementation of the work done throughout the year via an intensive competition programme

Feedback and follow up

A student’s progress is carefully monitored and evaluated as per their sports dedication and academic achievement stated and defined at the start of each term.
A thorough and detailed report is communicated to the player each term. This report is essentially a reference support or guidebook, which is a basis for further discussion between the academician's family and the assigned supervisor during the parent-teacher-coach meetings that take place each term.

Challenges

Every month, tests are held in the form of challenges, on and off the court, enabling each student to develop his/her competitive spirit.The "Red Line" Challenges➔Students are regularly stimulated through different challenges which contribute to forging their character by strengthening their appetite for effort - the engine to fuel their mental capacities.Combat sports➔Such as supervised boxing, judo, or wrestling are organised on a regular basis to hone the competitive spirit of every student.

Integration➔Organised over 3 days at the very beginning of the year, the integration weekend is an obligatory gateway for all students. It includes long distance challenges in teams which enable students to measure their physical and mental capabilities. It implies camping, spart an living conditions which facilitate the social links between students.

Physical training

Intensive PHYSICAL TRAINING

A training in 3 phases➔1st phase: September - December- Importance of work - Endurance - Strengthening muscles - Proprioception 2nd phase: January - April- Integrated physical preparation work - Reinforcement of speed, coordination and power work3rd phase: May - August- Physical work adapted to the cycle of competitions to come- Recovery and core flexibility work

Led by Thomas Scherle, physical training is a crucial practice pillar at the academy as it allows for faster progression and injury prevention. All students are expected to train 1h30 per day and to take part in all physical essential routines. The nature of the training and its intensity depends on the specific time period and profile of a player. Generally, the schedule is divided into 3 various phases.

CAMPUS 2.0

Since 2020, the French Touch academy has undergone a major renovation and construction phase, enabling it to position itself as one of the best in Europe.

The campus includes:

A boarding school building with a capacity of 80 beds, divided into rooms of 2, 3 or 4 students, with a surface area of 25 to 40 m², each with a bathroom and toilet.
A tourist residence of 50 high quality apartments with direct access to the academy
A 600 m² medical-sports center with 6 physiotherapy blocks, a balneo zone and an outdoor swimming pool
The international school with 8 classrooms and teachers' offices
28 tennis courts as well as an indoor hall with 7 courts (5 hard courts and 2 clay courts), 4 padels, and 2 fitness areas

THE TRAINING

The supervision of young people within the academy is provided 24/7 by our teams.

They ensure that the rules of life are respected, that each player is in good health and that group time is led. Evenings and rest periods are organised in such a way as to support each young person in his or her organisation and personal development. Within the campus itself, the boarders have at their disposal various infrastructures for entertainment: ping-pong tables, swimming pool, cinema room, table football. A laundry room is available, allowing each student to organise his or her own laundry during the week.

A year full of activities
Every other weekend, in addition to the many tournaments played, the boarders benefit from an extra-sporting outing and enjoy a multitude of activities: beach outings, go-karting, cinema, bowling, outings to Montpellier, sports exhibitions.

Our American High School is a US private school which delivers quality education and is accredited bySACS CASI (AdvancED/Cognia) and whose courses are NCAA approved.Students who complete their US high school programme in NCAA approved programs become eligible to apply for scholarships/grants for their college/university education

AN IDEAL SCHEDULE COMBINATION BETWEEN TENNIS & ACADEMICS

The timetable has been specifically designed to enable students to reconcile studies and tennis in the best possible conditions.
Mornings: 18 hours of schooling spread over 5 days, including all compulsory classes + 1 hour of compulsory study in the evening for boarders.

Afternoons: 4 hours of Tennis/Physics training 5 days a week, reinforced by morning training sessions between 7:30am and 9am twice a week.

BACCALAUREAT OBJECTIVE!

All compulsory subjects are taught, and students are specifically prepared for the Baccalauréat without wasting unnecessary time. All teachers are qualified and specifically trained in our teaching methods, which are based on pragmatism and building students' confidence.

On arrival in Terminale, students are prepared for the BAC exam with regular mock exams.

The proximity for an efficient teaching➔With 18 hours of classes per week, classes are organised by level and in limited numbers (6 to 10 students per class maximum). This proximity speeds up the teaching process and reinforces its effectiveness. English, an essential component of training➔The learning of English is an essential component of the curriculum, with an emphasis on allforms of oral communication. COMPETITION

A FULL ANNUAL TOURNAMENT SCHEDULE

The ‘Hérault’ region benefits from a well provided calendar of tournaments. Players have a choice of more than 45 ‘Open’ tournaments throughout the year, as well as many International youth tournaments (ITS and -14 years old) located in the southern region or in the north of Spain (2 ½ drive by car).

Competition is one of our main priorities

Because competition allows each player to measure progress and improve mental strength. It is also a unique opportunity for our coach to evaluate player’s progress in real match conditions.

15 to 20 official tournaments between September and June

On average, students take part in more than 15 official tournaments between September and June, more than in any other academy. To which, one can add up to ten additional tournaments during the summer.

MENTAL PREPARATION

It is approached in 3 steps:

- Our coaches take the time to get to know and analyze the behavior of each player on and off the field during the first 2 months in order to judge the need for support.

- Group sessions are organized to initiate reflection and awareness of the work to be done to achieve his goals.

- If the need is expressed by the player or advised by the coach, individual interviews are organized.

In depth medical check up

On arrival, all players are required to undergo a comprehensive test, enabling the sports team to carry out an in-depth medical and sports analysis, which is used throughout the year to improve medical follow-up.

How's a day in tennis school going? ➔The schedule is optimized because young players have no time to lose!Lessons take place on the French campus, where tennis and physical training also take place, as well as full-board accommodation.Depending on the section, age and level of tennis, a personalized timetable is proposed, integrating competition time, medical follow-up and physical recovery. Group cohesion, individual integration and the well-being of our academicians all contribute to their success: moments of play, sharing and relaxation are planned and integrated into the schedule.

How much does a year at the French tennis academy cost? Can I benefit from a scholarship? ➔All the prices for our tennis study program are detailed in the 'prices' section. For example, a year at the French school costs €22,500. This price includes all tuition, training and competition fees. We are committed to developing our sport, and to helping the best hopefuls succeed, by encouraging the profiles of players with 'potential'. Requests for exceptional financial assistance may be considered, depending on the player's sporting level and in line with the young athlete's family project.

What is the 1st step for a potential integration within Tennis-Studies?➔All applications are studied with great attention by the school and sports management team. After an in-depth telephone interview to evaluate the candidate's academic level and motivation, a week of testing is scheduled.This test week takes place at the Cap d'Agde International Tennis Centre, and enables the level of tennis to be assessed, as well as the candidate's room for improvement. School tests and in-depth interviews are also scheduled.

Is there a Post-Bac formula?➔Yes, we offer a BTS formula for players who have already obtained their baccalaureate.This formula is particularly favoured by young people wishing to prepare a departure to an American University, thanks to a scholarship. One or two years of preparation are very useful, because they allow to significantly improve the level of tennis and thus increase the amount of the scholarship. It is also the time needed to prepare the application files, pass the mandatory exams and finalize the administrative part of the departure (when this was not possible before, for young people who have not followed the Tennis Etudes course of the French Touch Academy).
